| 10 | Margaret Pera, 89, 715 Lexington, died Sunday in a local hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Pera was born June 25, 1884, in Butte. She was educated in Butte and was a member of the Women's Protective Union 457. She married Angelo Pera who died in 1940. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Rose Yerkes, Butte; sisters, Mrs. A. Maffei, Alameda, Calif., and Mrs. Emily Haughton, Seattle; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Nan Pera, Butte. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 in the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery. The Rosary will be said Monday at 7:30 in the Duggan Merrill Dolan Mortuary on Idaho. | Margaret

| 13 | PAULINE KAFKA - Entered peacefully into rest in Castro Valley on January 10, 2007. She was 94 years old. Born in San Francisco, CA on September 8, 1912, Pauline was the last of five sisters from one of the oldest San Francisco families. She had been a credit manager for Lustig's Furniture Store for over 20 years before retiring and becoming a homemaker. She had been a longtime resident of San Lorenzo and had belonged to the San Lorenzo Sociables. Devoted to her family, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved family gatherings. A sports enthusiast, Pauline's favorite teams were the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. She loved to take the bus trips to Lake Tahoe and Reno where she would go gamble and play poker. She will truly be missed. Pauline is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Geri and Bob Wilk of Genoa, Nevada. She will truly be missed by her beloved grandchildren, Wendy, Gary, Duncan and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jerome Kafka, in 1997. Visitation for Pauline will be on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Grissom's Chapel & Mortuary, 267 E. Lewelling Blvd., San Lorenzo.
